Cover Letter

  • Include a statement verifying that:
    1. the manuscript is original;
    2. all authors participated and approved the submission;
    3. you wish to submit to The Journal of Reproductive Medicine®;
    4. the manuscript is not under review elsewhere; and
    5. the authors agree to pay $100.00 per typeset page if accepted.
  • Provide complete financial disclosure information.
  • Suggest three reviewers (name, affiliation, email) who can offer an independent critical assessment.

General

  • Length limits: ~3,000 words (clinical perspectives, original articles); ~1,000 words (case reports, brief clinical communications).
  • Pagination: number pages consecutively from the title page; order: title page → synopsis → abstract & keywords → body → references → figure legends → tables.
  • Keywords: provide ≥5 MeSH terms:
    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/authors.html.
  • Obtain written permissions for previously published tables/figures.
  • Cite references, figures (Arabic), and tables (Roman) in numerical order as they appear.
  • Use generic drug names when possible; capitalize trade names and include manufacturer (city, state/province, country).
  • Report in metric units.
  • Use the Oxford comma in series.
  • Accepted papers incur a charge of $100.00 per typeset page.

Title Page

  • Authors’ full names and highest degrees; corresponding author’s postal address, phone, fax, and email.
  • Author limits: ≤6 (original articles); ≤4 (case reports/brief clinical communications); ≤3 (clinical perspectives).
  • Acknowledge any meeting presentation and financial support.

Synopsis Page

  • A single-sentence summary (≤25 words).

Abstract Page

  • Structured abstract, ≤200 words:
    • Original articles: Objective; Study Design; Results; Conclusion.
    • Case reports: Background; Case; Conclusion.
    • Clinical perspectives: Objective; Data Sources; Methods of Study; Results; Conclusion.
  • If key variables are nonsignificant, address the study’s power.

Materials and Methods

  • State that original research had IRB/ethics approval (and consent as applicable).
  • Describe randomization, blinding, and choice of statistical tests.
  • Explain dropouts/exclusions and handling of confounders.

References

  • Journals: Authors. Title. Abbrev J Name. Year;volume:pages. (Use Index Medicus abbreviations.)
  • Books: Authors. Chapter. In Book Title. Editors. Place: Publisher; year: pages.
  • Identify in text with superscript numerals and number consecutively by order of appearance.
  • Avoid unpublished/personal communications, websites, and non–peer-reviewed sources.

Figures

  • Color in print: $500 per color page; use symbols instead of color where possible.
  • Each image/part (A, B, etc.) at least 990 px wide.
  • Submit at ≥300 dpi in TIFF, JPEG, PNG, Photoshop, or EPS; color files in CMYK.
  • Include original magnification, stain, and mark critical areas of radiographs/photomicrographs.

Tables

  • Number and title all tables.
  • Each table should be self-contained and interpretable without the text.
  • Prefer narrative text over tables/graphs when data are simple.
